LUKE’S ARCADE / FREE BROWSER GAME
Apex Flow Racing
A racing game you play with one thumb: a 30-level campaign across four road types (city, tunnel, coast and canyon), each level adding something new: boost pads and jump ramps, hurdles, wall and ceiling rides, roadblocks, a dark tunnel, a storm, an oncoming lane that pays double, falling barriers and mirrored steering. After the campaign, the endless ladder starts at a cruise and gets faster and harder every round toward round 100, with a boss every tenth round. Eight camouflage cars are ready in the garage, with four additional performance profiles earned through campaign stars and ladder rounds. Finish faster for bronze, silver, gold and Apex medals and chase the ghost of your best run. On a computer, drift with the keyboard for turbo boosts. Rush, Zen and a daily gauntlet are there too. You drive the car you picked in the Apex Flow Labs city garage. Free, no download, no account.
How to play
- Drag your finger left or right anywhere on the screen and the car follows it. Let go and it settles into the nearest lane. A quick swipe hops a lane.
- Passing close to another car scores a close pass; a hair's width away is a razor pass, worth more, with a split second of slow motion. Close passes back to back build a chain that multiplies them.
- Close passes, gold sparks and checkpoints charge the nitro meter. When it is full, swipe up: a burst of speed, double distance points, and you smash through traffic instead of crashing.
- Tap to jump. Tap again while you are in the air to fling the car onto the wall on that side, or, in a tunnel, onto the ceiling: the road turns sideways, rings on the wall refill your turbo, and you drop back by dragging away.
- Jump the hurdles across the road, fly through rings above ramps, and drift around corners for a turbo.
- On a computer: arrow keys or A and D to steer, Shift to drift, Space to jump (press it again in the air to stick to a wall), E for nitro. A gamepad works too.
Modes
- Rush (the default): a countdown clock starts when you do. Every checkpoint arch adds time, a crash costs time and speed, later worlds are faster and drain the clock quicker, and a chain of three close passes (Slipstream) slows it. In the last ten seconds a big countdown appears and the screen turns red.
- Zen: no timer, just the drive.
- Ladder: endless rounds, three hearts, each round faster than the last. Finish a round under par to win a heart back.
- Daily: everyone drives the same road, against the clock, with a streak for playing each day.
